Bio

J.D. Haas concentrates on post-trial and appellate advocacy, drawing on a deep well of courtroom experience to shape strategy after judgment. He has tried more than 50 cases to juries nationwide and negotiated settlements in thousands of others, experience that sharpens his judgment about what truly moves decision-makers on appeal. That trial-tested perspective helps him distill large records into decisive questions, align arguments with the standard of review, and frame remedies in ways that are both legally sound and practically meaningful. Early in his career, he realized he’d found his calling in helping good people through bad circumstances. Today, he brings that same client-first approach to appellate matters; working closely with trial counsel on issue preservation, post-trial motions, and tight, persuasive briefing aimed at either protecting a favorable judgment or demonstrating reversible error. JD Haas is licensed in the following states: Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.
